Class Description
Age-appropriate training in the art of Classical Ballet Students will continue to study Ballet positions, steps, and movements for the entire body, adding in more complex and advanced Ballet techniques Using the ballet barre for training, balance, strength, flexibility, and coordination Work on motor and developmental skills such as: -Classical Stage Directions, and Left, Right, Forwards, Backwards, Sideways, Circular directions -Music Theory like counting beats, learning time signatures, listening to cues, hearing various instruments, creating rhythms, and recognizing classical composers -Standing, sitting, lying down, clapping, hopping, marching, jumping, leaping, spinning, walking, running, skipping, conditioning, coordination, etc. Students will learn basic and intermediate French language as it applies to Classical Ballet, and study Dance and Music History with Geography included Students will practice engaging in a classroom environment with learning dances with a partner, composing choreographies, verbalizing ideas, and communicating Teamwork skills such as taking turns, listening to others, waiting in line, dancing together, and treating others with respect and kindness Each class will offer physical education and exercise study to support their health and wellness with safety and proper execution emphasized Performance quality and emotional awareness such as theatrical acting, confidence, joy, sadness, anger, storytelling, and creating an environment as a performer. Increased coaching on identifying and understanding emotions
