Class Description

In the duration of a semester, the course will offer: Weekly mock rehearsals will consist of: learning choreography, staging, scripts, music pieces, theater etiquette, transitions, partnerships, and elements of production such as writing, design work, set and prop construction, creating choreography, sewing, teamwork, communication, and more Performers will learn about physical health and training, dance techniques, performance qualities, musicality, acting, teamwork, professional conduct, and costume design and creation Students will develop and maintain the emotional and physical exercise practices necessary to perform at their best, on command. Students will learn about writing, scripting, body language, acting for stage and for film, videography, speech, self-confidence, comedy, drama, stage combat Theater Technical elements taught may include set design and construction, painting, prop building, color theory and lighting design, photography, cinematography, marketing, advertising, and communication skills Performance quality and emotional awareness with personalized coaching on identifying and understanding emotions are taught to all participants These courses prepare students for a long career in the performing arts. Students will learn how to function effectively as part of a production team beyond just performing.
